Touch of Magic

"Hillside" - Part 1

The first time I edited these photos, I didn't feel like they were anything special. They seemed flat and just ordinary. There was a lot of smoke haze this day as well, so the colours were all a bit funny.

So I left them for a few months and when I came back to them I tried something a bit different. A bit darker, a bit richer and almost a bit grungy. Now I feel like they have that touch of magic that they were missing.

A big thank you to Scott & Annie Harrold for inviting me out to "Hillside", and to my Mum who kept me company on the drive over and entertained my kids so I could enjoy taking the photos!

(More photos from "Hillside" will be coming to the Blog soon and you won't want to miss them!)

It's a hard choice for me between the colour and black & white version of this photo!

Inquisitive.

I love the natural framing from the rails in this photo.

I'd rather take photos of older timber yards & rails over new steel ones any day.

The road home - so much smoke!

Sunset was stunning with the layers of the hills between Springsure & Fernlees.
